Pack to Moat, week 6

Hello everyone! I'm back with another weekly update on the pack to moat project! I haven't played much magic at all this week, which is reflected in the lack of trades, but I got my first 30+ card this week!

March 5th, 2012

My:
2x Gravecrawler (8.22, 16.44)
Rootbound Crag (3.88)
Wurmcoil Engine (15.97)

His:
Garruk Relentless (14.52)
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (3.82)
Batterskull (13.95)
Dungeon Geists (5.17)

Net: +1.17

This trade looked good for me initially, but after review it turns out I valued my Gravecrawlers 1 too low a piece and my Rootbound almost a dollar low as well. The funny thing about this trade was that after I cleared up the Pack to Moat trade, I wound up trading for those 2 Gravecrawlers and the Wurmcoil Engine!

March 7th, 2012

My:
FOIL Headless Skaab (0.25)

His:
Harmonize (1.71)

Net: +1.46

This trade was kinda cool because I didn't realize how seemingly useless cards like Harmonize can actually hold some good value! The card is absolutely playable in the right deck, so maybe this can do a miracle for me!

My:
Garruk Relentless (14.52)
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (3.82)
Dungeon Geists (5.17)
Clifftop Retreat (2.86)

His:
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad (32.58)

Net: +6.21

This is awesome! I haven't even had a 20+ card in the binder yet, but now I vault right over into the 30+ range! The only thing bad about this trade though is that Sorin is losing about 50 cents a day right now, and I won't be able to trade again until probably Wednesday, so by that point he will be down to maybe 29. Regardless, this is a very powerful piece that I will try to move quickly for some more solid staples including hopefully like a Sword of Feast and Famine or a Geist of Saint Traft.

3 trades
Week 6 net: +8.84

Like I said, I played almost no magic this week, however this next weekend I am going on a geek excursion out to WPI to play in a bunch of events there and hang out with some people I met at states, so I expect to get as many as 10 trades in over the course of that weekend! So while I haven't had many cards moving these past couple weeks, I expect next week's report to be a doozy to write! I may not have been playing much, but I am fine tuning a new Legacy deck that has been having fairly good results that I should have a post up about by Wednesday.

That's all I have for today! Until next time, stay classy!
